.: Red Dog Casino Game Review
Red Dog Poker is a very popular online casino table game that is a spinoff of ‘acey-duecey' and ‘in-between'. The game can also be referred to as Yablon. Red Dog Poker is played with a standard 52-card deck with up to eight decks at once. How Red Dog DiffersAn interesting aspect with Red Dog is how the odds vary between this card game and others such as Blackjack. Strategy is not exactly a main focus in this game and any fundamentals that exist are very basic. Ironically with most casino table games the house's edge in the game will increase with each additional deck of cards added. This is not so with Red Dog Poker, where the house edge can be reduced from 3.155% using only one deck of cards down to 2.75% with the use of eight. That being said your overall odds in this game are still lower than other popular casino table games. Winning Red Dog Hands
Red Dog Poker payouts are based on a spread table. This means that depending on what two cards you are dealt will be the base of your payout. This is the basic spread table used and as an example a hand like 3 "“ 7 would give you a spread of 4. Using the chart below if you win your payout would be 1 to 1.
| Spread | Payout |
|---|---|
| 1 card | 5 to 1 |
| 2 cards | 4 to 1 |
| 3 cards | 2 to 1 |
| 4+ cards | 1 to 1 |
Alright so now we have given you the basics on your odds and how the spread table works so how exactly do you play the game? Well for starters the game only requires the use of three cards at a time. Your first action of course is to place a wager. Once this is done you will be given two cards face up with rankings the same as poker. Don't worry about suit it's not relevant in this game, only the numbers are used. Once you have received your first two cards you essentially have three options. If both of these cards are of equal value you will receive a third card. If by chance you receive a card that is of the same value as the other two (three of a kind), than you will collect a payout of 11 to 1. If your two cards are not of equal value than your hand is a push. If the cards are consecutive in number your hand is a push. A consecutive hand would be a six and a seven, or a two and a three. If your hand is greater than one number than the spread will be announced and a third card is given. Your payout is determined by this spread if you should win, and you will also be given the option to double your bet. To win, your third card value needs to fall between the values of the first two cards. Taking the example from above - if you are given a three and seven you would need a four, five or six to win. Red Dog strategy is one of the simplest there is. You only raise your bet when the spread favours your hand, which should be 7 or more. The reason behind this is there are 13 numbers ranging between 2-A, seven of which will help you and six that will kill your hand. With a spread like this you are a 53.84% favourite, if your spread increases so will your chances.
